Libido, Hormones & Your Health, TEDx Talk

Libido, Hormones & Your Health, TEDx Talk

Libido is not just your romantic drive. It’s your life drive. It’s the energy you need to accomplish everything that is important to you.

Freud described it as “the instinctual energy and the quantum magnitude that is compromised of everything having to do with love.” It’s love for your family, love for your work, love to get out of bed and have a great day and love to check things off of your bucket list. Libido is an indicator of so much more than your romantic life!

If you’ve lost your libido, I want you to know that you can get it back! A strong libido (life force) is a result of proper hormonal balance.

In anti-aging and regenerative medicine, with the help of the human genome project and all of the new testing we have available to us, we can now practice personalized medicine. We treat the individual based on their own genetics, their own biochemistry and their individual nutritional needs. At the cornerstone of anti-aging medicine is hormonal balancing. In fact, some of the new theories about why we age pose that we do so because we become hormonally imbalanced.

When you balance your hormones you’ll get rid of your hot flashes, sleep better, improve your memory, decrease your risk of cancer, control your blood sugar, decrease osteoporosis, decrease Alzheimer’s, decrease arthritis, look younger and love more. When your libido is restored, you’ll find new optimism, energy and momentum to live your best life.

If your life drive is low, find a doctor who specializes in hormone replacement therapy, such as a doctor fellowship-trained in anti-aging or functional medicine. Talk with them about bio-identical hormone replacement and work together to optimize your hormonal markers.

TIP: Be certain you take bio-identical hormones, not synthetic. Bio-identical hormones are an exact copy of what your body makes naturally and when applied to the skin, studies reveal enormous benefit.

Your nutritional balance and stress level also impact your libido. Minimize stress and optimize your diet while you balance your hormones.

I can’t wait to see what you accomplish once your life drive is restored!
